Project Name: AI for Demand forecasting in commercial and public buildings in a smart grid context
Project Description: AI4Grid is a smart demand forecasting tool for electricity utilities and aggregators. It uses an AI model to accurately forecast electricity demand in individual buildings and building clusters with a focus on small and medium commercial establishments and public buildings in a city with a target to reduce total electricity consumption by up to 10% on average.
Project Type: PCP
S&C Role: In this project, we will focus on energy forecasting methods based on causal methods where the cause-and-effect relation is considered and analyzed. Multivariate modeling is adopted, where energy consumption time series is related to other influencing variables, such as socio-economic and climate factors.
Project funded by: This is part of the AI4Cities project that has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme under grant agreement No 871914.
